Companionship

Companionship is a big part of sustaining a positive quality of life. Our compassionate caregivers provide friendship and emotional support by talking, listening and sharing experiences with our clients, playing games/cards, reading, helping keep clients in contact with family, friends and the outside world, assist them with writing or typing letters, emails, or other correspondence, and helping them organize and read their mail. Our goal is to encourage our clients to maintain that quality of life they worked so hard for their entire life.

Meal Preparation

Our goal is to encourage our clients to eat healthy and prevent future health problems, all while living as independent as possible. To accomplish this, our caregivers can prepare “real” meals for their client, not just ones from the microwave. We encourage clients to help in the process if they can and, if not, our caregivers can prepare the meal in full. We also can assist clients with the execution of special, written diet plans and reinforcing diet maintenance, as well as, remind clients to start and/or finish meals.

Laundry &
Light Housekeeping

Keeping a house nice and tidy can enhance a person’s ability to live independently at home. Our compassionate caregivers can perform many household duties. The most common ones are laundry, taking out trash, dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping floors, ironing, straightening up rooms, changing linens, making beds, organizing, cleaning closets and drawers, and taking out the trash. ARIS at home does not provide maintenance or cleaning outside of the house. However, if you have a specific household duty you would like our caregiver to perform, but do not see it here, contact us and we will be happy to see if we can oblige.

Outside Activities

Encouraging outside activities is very important to quality of life. ARIS at home caregivers will encourage outings by accompany their client on a walk, assist with plans for visits and outings, accompany them to medical appointments and/or social events, shop for groceries at stores of the client’s preference and run errands (prescription pickup, etc.), help plan local trips and out-of-town travel with clients. Our caregivers can even provide transportation to medical appointments and/or social events if needed.

Medication Reminders

Caregivers help ensure that our clients take their medications as prescribed by providing reminders. Although our caregivers cannot administer medications, they can assist with opening medication containers, read prescription labels and reminding our clients when it is time to take their next doses.
